I've been to Tea Kettle Falls several times before, but never made an image that I thought did this unique place justice. This time, due to it's small watershed, I knew I had to get to this waterfall after a large rainstorm. It had rained several inches the previous day and I arrived at the falls just after sunrise. Again, I made several disappointing compositions in overcast light, but decided to wait and see if the sun would break though the clouds and spotlight the waterfall from the edge of the hollow. When the light eventually created this effect, I decided to isolate the falls to bring emphasis on the rays shining through the water. At the top of the image, the bottom of the arch that this waterfall tumbles under can be seen with a small amount of water actually spilling over the top. This is truly a special place.
