Caddo Lake State Park, Texas - May 12, 2011
Caddo Lake State Park is a very beautiful yet difficult place to compose photographs. This scene was made just after sunrise as the sun began to fill the pond with early light. The sky was very hazy, which allowed the light to softly filter into the scene, highlighting the vibrant greens and side-lighting the trunks of the trees without creating too much contrast. I was drawn to the character of the dominant cypress tree in the foreground created by it's outreaching limbs.
