Hobbs Coneflowers

Cone Flowers

Along Highway 12, Hobbs State Park - Conservation Area, Arkansas - June 10, 2011

June is a wonderful time to photograph wildflowers along Arkansas highways and in native prairies around the state.  Near my home, Hobbs State Park is no exception, with nice displays of coneflowers along Highway 12 throughout the park.  For this image, I decided to isolate a small group of flowers while allowing the rest to fall out of focus creating a pastel of colors and shapes in the background.  For emphasis, I placed the upper, foreground coneflower against a darker area of the soft background.
