Capitol Reef National Park, Utah
I had been somewhat grounded by all the rain that Capitol Reef National Park and the surrounding area received during our two week visit due to many of the washed out and impassable roads. During the peak of the floods, I decided to drive the main, paved road through the park to see the rare, muddy waterfalls that spill over the canyon's towering walls. While I was driving, Bekki noticed this interesting slot and waterfall along the edge of the road. I quickly jumped out and placed a 20mm wide angle lens on the camera to include as much of the slot, falls, and "fin" shaped rock in the frame as possible while shooting from the very tight area available. As we drove away, about 30 minutes later, I looked back and noticed that the falls had slowed substantially. A couple hours later, the water was completely gone as if this event had never even happened!
