Nature photography in Arkansas can be extremely challenging, and yet Arkansas is one of the most rewarding areas to photograph in the country when a truly special image is made. I feel blessed to produce just a small handful of special images in a given year.
This image of Cedar Falls at Petit Jean State Park represents an idea that I had to photograph the waterfall with high flow during the usually dry Arkansas autumn. After several trips to the area over the span of about three years, one morning in early November 2006, I was able to record my visualization.
The following pages contain many images from near my home in ARKANSAS as well as many trips across AMERICA that record natural moments in time. I hope these scenes will encourage the viewer to take notice, respect and protect our wilderness as they have me while photographing them.
